HISTORY

A-l A-Lectrician is a locally-based electrical construction organization with offices on Oahu and the Big Island. It was established in 1957 and incorporated in 1962 by James Yamada, Sr. and is overseen today by his son, James Yamada, Jr., CEO and grandson, Jason Yamada, President. One of the largest electrical construction organizations in the State of Hawaii, A-l had average revenues in excess of $40 million through the 2000's.

A-l believes that people are our greatest assets and we value and take care of our employees. Because of this, employee retention, satisfaction and a sense of ownership in the jobs they do is high. Our staff of superintendents, foremen, project managers and project engineers together have more than 1,000 years of experience.

A-I's long time commitment to Hawaii businesses has resulted in excellent relationships with local agencies, including the City and County inspection divisions, the fire prevention division and the local utilities. Likewise, it has developed an outstanding relationship with the Local Union 1186 and can therefore guarantee the best, and most appropriate, specialists for its projects.
